Planning on staging an event along the Yorkshire Coast?
Our specialist team of event organisers have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to supporting the safe planning and regulation of events and filming along the Yorkshire Coast.
Every year along the Yorkshire Coast we host a wide range of successful events. Each event is different as they come in all shapes and sizes and take place in a variety of locations and venues. From amateurs organising their first event, to large scale international event management companies, we have seen them all. Our specialist events team here at DYC have a wealth of experience when it comes to staging major events. We're responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing a number of large and hugely popular annual festivals along the coast, including Scarborough Armed Forces Day, Seafest and the UK Pro Surf Scarborough Surf Festival.
Together all of these events contribute to making the Yorkshire Coast an exciting place to be.
How to apply to put on a new event
If you have a new event that hasn’t previously been held along the Yorkshire Coast, we can’t wait to hear about it. By following our step by step guide below, you can submit an event application for your event.
To start, you need to complete the Event Notification Form. This form will help our Events Officers Group determine whether or not your event is feasible. The more information you can provide at this stage the better, so feel free to attach any supporting information.
Once you have completed the form please return this by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Our Event Officers Group meets once a month to review all submitted events. Depending on when you submit your Event Notification Form, will determine when you hear a response from our events team. The table below shows the dates you can expect to hear a reply.

Once your Event Notification Form has been received, it will be sent to the relevant stakeholders for their approval.
We will then respond to you via email to inform you whether your event has been approved, declined or if we require further information. We will also let you know of any hire fees, bonds/deposits and our payment terms and conditions.
We will also send you an Event Application Form to complete and return. Once we have received this and the Events Officers Group is happy that we have all the relevant information needed, we will book your event into the events calendar.
Applying for an existing or repeating event
If you have previously held your event along the Yorkshire Coast and would like to repeat the event, you can email us at email@example.com to request an Event Application Form. When this is sent through we will also let you know of any hire fees, bonds/deposits and our payment terms and conditions.
Once you have completed the Event Application Form adding any supporting information, please return it by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
When the Events Officers Group is happy that we have all the relevant information needed, we will book your event into the events calendar.
