Details

A free guided-tour of The Church of St. Martin-on-the-Hill, Scarborough's "Hidden pre-Raphaelite gem". Tours take place every Tuesday Morning (May to end of September) from 10.30 to 11.30 approx. The church will be open from 10am and there are light refreshments available for a small charge.

There are stained glass windows designed by William Morris, Ford Madox Brown, Sir Edward Burne-Jone, Dante Gabriel Rossetti and other pre-Raphaelite artisits. Many of the charachters displayed in the windows are modelled on the artists themselves or wives and girlfiends. See our website for more information.

The church will be open from 10am and the tour starts at 10.30 finishing about 60 - 75 minutes later. If you arrive late please join the tour as you are most welcome. If you cannot stay for the whole tour that does not matter. Tours are free but you may like to make a voluntary donation towards the upkeep of the church.If you enjoy the tour please tell your friends.

Albion Road connects easily to the A165 (Filey) Road.

From the town centre (Railway Station) take the A165 towards Filey and Bridlington. Cross The Valley Bridge and, after the traffic lights at the end of the bridge, climb a short hill to take the second turning left onto Albion Road. The church will be clearly visible.
