The Yorkshire Coast and Moors provides fantastic varied landscapes and coastal locations that have been attracting film and TV production companies, music video makers and commercial advertisers for many years.

How do I apply for permission to film in the Borough of Scarborough?
You are advised to contact the filming officer as early as possible to arrange your requirements and to avoid potential delays particularly in the summer season.
For all types of filming with a small crew (10 people or less) please complete the Small Crew Application Form and, together with a valid copy of £5 million Public Liability Insurance, send to [email protected]
On receipt of your application, you will be contacted to discuss any further requirements and fees payable prior to receiving your permissions document.
For larger productions and if you wish to discuss your filming project with the filming officer please phone 01723 383 615.
Filming using a Drone/UAS
Applications to film with a Drone/UAS will require a CAA permissions licence for aerial filming. Pilots should be fully licensed and insured including PLI £5 million. www.caa.co.uk
Please use the Small Crew Application Form and, together with a valid copy of £5 million Public Liability Insurance, send to [email protected]
If the Drone filming is part of your film application you do not need to apply separately.
