Sneaton Castle is an excellent base for a whole variety of day and residential events including conferences, seminars, holidays, B&B, retreats, music, arts & drama and for walking and exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and Coast
We offer safe and secure parking for all guests, and there is ample space for children to play in a safe environment, with an original walled garden, nature walk and terraces.
Our dining room is furnished with 'Mousey Thompson' furniture and with local Sutcliffe photographs. The food is home-cooked and delicious and the premises are fully licensed boasting a beautifully appointed resident's bar lounge. We also have a small shop selling cards, books and local souvenirs.
Owing to its delightful location close to the centre of Whitby, Sneaton Castle Centre offers the visitor easy access to one of England's most historical and beautiful regions, combining coast, moorland, hidden market towns and charming villages, untouched by the march of time.
The area offers limitless opportunities for leisurely exploration for holidaymakers and is excellent for those whose interests and studies are in geology, geography, history, botany, marine biology and Christianity.
Golf and fishing available within one mile of the centre. Children welcome from any age.

The accomodation was clean, cheap and very suitable for our purposes (Cycling the Moors to the sea route and return the following day). It might not be an obvious choice for some as it is an ex-Nunnery and religious school but no issues arose from this. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
The toilet on our landing needed unblocking and the toilet seat has become loose. There were plenty of other bathrooms and toilets nearby.
Highly recommended particulalry as B and B's in Whitby will not take a booking for one night only and are not keen on adult groups.
The location is slightly away from Whitby centre but it cost us £4 for a taxi -so not a problem
