This coastline has a fascinating heritage, both culturally and industrially, and the small villages along it have always played a key role in that, supporting communities of both workers and artists, most famously at Staithes, where the Staithes Group of artist at one time rivalled the Newlyn School (and even shared some members with that famous group).
