These Terms and Conditions refer to the online accommodation booking process of this website.
1. Legally Binding
By completing and submitting the booking form and receiving an
acceptance form on behalf of the Provider you become legally bound
both to the Council and to the Provider to abide by these provisions
and any rules and regulations of the Provider relating to the
accommodation.
2. Payment
| 2.1 |
The total price of the accommodation and the method of payment will be stated in the booking form. |
| 2.2 |
You are required to provide details of your debit or credit card when submitting the booking form and by doing so you authorise the Accommodation Provider or the Council as agents to recover all or any sums due and payable by you in relation to the booking including all expenses costs and interest on monies due in connection with such recovery. |
| 2.3 |
You must pay a booking fee of £2.00 to the Council. |
| 2.4 |
The Council will deduct the booking fee and an initial booking payment of 10% of the total price of the accommodation booked from your debit or credit card upon issuing the acceptance form. |
| 2.5 |
You must pay the total accommodation price (less the initial booking payment already paid) to the Provider on or before the date you depart from the accommodation and in accordance with any terms and conditions of the Provider. Some Accommodation Providers may require a deposit or the full payment prior to arrival. |
3. Cancellation
| 3.1 |
In the event of a cancellation or if you fail to arrive to take up your accommodation (a 'no show') the advance is forfeited. In addition, accommodation providers are able to charge substantial amounts of the balance should they be unable to re-let your room(s). Each accommodation provider has its own cancellation policy and you are advised to check with it about its charges if you are considering a cancellation. |
| 3.2 |
If the Provider is forced to cancel the booking for reasons outside of its control it will give you as much notice of the cancellation as reasonably possible. You must check with the Accommodation Provider as to the exact terms when they cancel. |
4. The Accommodation
| 4.1 |
The time of your access to the accommodation on the day of arrival will depend on the Providers requirements as will the time when you will be expected to vacate on the day of departure. |
| 4.2 |
If you fail to vacate all or any part of the accommodation premises by the required time the Provider may make a charge for a further night's stay that shall be due and payable immediately by you. For the avoidance of doubt failure to vacate includes any persons staying in your party remaining in the accommodation premises and you or they leaving goods and/or personal property in the accommodation premises (except by prior arrangement). |
| 4.3 |
Neither the Council nor any of its staff make any representations or warranties and can accept no responsibility for the standard provided. Properties that have been inspected and graded by the AA, RAC or VisitBritain are used. Sometimes problems may arise. In the event of problems with your accommodation you are advised to make these known to the proprietor immediately. |
| 4.4 |
All Providers will have specific rules and regulations that apply to guests staying in their accommodation. It is not possible to list all these on the website and for further details you should check directly with the Provider before booking. |
5. Disclosure to Third Parties
| 5.1 |
In order to facilitate formation and performance of contracts the Council will pass your details to the Provider. Your attention is drawn to the websites Privacy Policy Statement. |
6. English Law
6.1 The contract will be governed by English Law.
