Walking on the Yorkshire Coast

Walking on the Yorkshire Coast - A Couple explore a map.The North Yorkshire Coast is walking country - gentle strolls, day walks and long-distance hikes are all on our doorstep. There are dozens of short walks encompassing everything from town trails to wildlife spotting, which you can pick up at any Tourist Information Centre.

If you enjoy long distance walking you will be spoilt for choice. The Cleveland Way National Trail, The Yorkshire Wolds Way, Esk Valley Walk are just some of our more popular trails. The Centernary Way was created in 1989 by North Yorkshire County Council and it covers 82 miles between York Minster and Filey on the East coast, linking sections of the Foss, Ebor, Derwent and Wolds Ways.

Comprehensive guidebooks are available for all these long distance walks, which you can purchase via the web or at a local Tourist Information Centre.

Use the menu below to find out more information on a series of walks along the Yorkshire Coast.
