Whitby - Food and Drink
Whitby has some of the best fish and chips in the UK – it’s official. One local chippy, Quayside, was named as best independent fish and chip takeaway in last year’s Seafish awards, while The Magpie Café regularly welcomes restaurant critics from around the country and has foodies queuing around the block.
But Whitby has more to offer the food-lover than just fish and chips, with excellent restaurants, bistros, food shops, plus an historic bakery and Fortune’s, a traditional smokehouse established when Queen Victoria was still on the throne. And head down to the bustling quayside for seafood stalls, including the opportunity to send some kippers by post to the folks at home…
A warm welcome to Skippers Café, home to Whitbys premier breakfast and the legendary Trawlerman challenge. Thick tasty bacon, succulent sausages making that perfect breakfast roll. Offering a range of quality breakfasts and lunchtime meals with everything available to eat in or take away, and all made using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. ...More info
