Details
We may be creating Yorkshire’s first single malt whisky, but for us it’s about doing things properly. That’s why we’re obsessed with every step of the distilling process, from grain to glass. Mentored by renowned whisky expert Dr. Jim Swan, our instinctive approach is to create a whisky that doesn’t just replicate Scotch. That doesn’t mean we rely on blind luck – we take the best of tradition and apply new thinking to create something unique.
Locally and sustainably produced, all the barley and spring water we use is grown and sourced here, on our family farm. These are the same ingredients that go into the Great Taste Award-winning beers at our sister company, the Wold Top Brewery.

You'll find us in Hunmanby, just 20 minutes south of Scarborough or 15 minutes north of Bridlington, 10 minutes south-west of Filey on the A165.
You can also reach us by bus and/or train:
Bus: there is a stop on Cross Hill, near the church and there is another one on Hungate Lane. Both are about a 16 min walk or 3 min car journey. The bus stop is 0.80 miles from Spirit Of Yorkshire Distillery.
Train: The train is much closer. Hunmanby Train Station is 0.3 miles / 0.5 km from Spirit Of Yorkshire Distillery.
Whilst you do have to go up a hill to get here, we would suggest that this is the better mode of public transport. Trains go every 90 minutes from Filey. Scarborough train times vary throughout the day.
