Building of the church commenced about the year of 1180 and the work was finally completed in 1230. It is Norman and Early English in style with a low broad tower rising from the intersection of the transepts and is dedicated to St. Oswald.

Opening details

For a trial period which ends in April 2012, but may continue thereafter, we are generally meeting every 1st and 3rd Sunday at St Oswalds and every 2nd and 4th Sunday at St Johns, all morning services at 10am. Traditiional services i.e. Christmas and Easter are always at St Oswalds. The best way to be sure of service times is to check our online church magazine, the Envoy, which has a diary at
