Christmas Moorlander Lunch

Our Christmas Moorlander Lunch departs from Grosmont on all dates before Christmas Day and from Pickering after Christmas Day, travelling through the magical and scenic North York Moors National Park.
Starters
Homemade thick vegetable soup laced with sherry, topped with a swirl of cream and fresh parsley (V)
Oak smoked salmon served on a bed of leaves with a lemon and cucumber salsa and brown bread and butter
Smoked Gressingham duck breast on a bed of leaves with orange segments, roasted pine nuts accompanied with Cumberland sauce
Fresh Melon, kiwi fruit, strawberries and pineapple, topped with chilled Prosecco (V)
A selection of white and brown bread rolls with butter will accompany your choice of starter
Main Course
Roast turkey breast, served with bacon wrapped chipolata, sage and onion seasoning, cranberry sauce, topped with watercress
Sirloin of beef served with a chasseur sauce made with red wine, shallots, mushrooms and tomatoes
Pot roast English pheasant served with game chips, watercress, redcurrant jelly and port pan gravy
Chestnut and shallot tatin served on a bed of braised red cabbage with a creamy mushroom and garlic sauce (V)
All the above main courses are served with a variety of seasonal fresh vegetables and potatoes
Dessert or Cheese
Traditional steamed Christmas pudding served with a rum sauce
Dark chocolate and orange torte served with fresh berries, orange and Cointreau coulis, topped with fresh whipped cream and candy cane
Creamy vanilla cheese cake served with fresh fruit and berries, topped with whipped cream
Yorkshire Cheese Board serving three popular cheeses accompanied with celery, walnuts, grapes and spiced fruit chutney
Freshly brewed Yorkshire Tea or Coffee with Christmas Cake, chocolate mints and a tangerine
Christmas Moorlander costs Adults £71 (aged 14 years plus), Child £59 (aged 5-13 years old). Limited Availability. Departure is from Grosmont or Pickering (Grosmont on all dates before Christmas Day and Pickering after Christmas Day) at 12:00, lasting 2hrs 45mins. View Terms & Conditions.
Please note:
Menu choices are required at least 4 weeks in advance of your date of travel (if not already selected when booking) as all meals are prepared on board the train on the day. Selections are not required for the Pullman Tea or Festive Afternoon Tea services.
For exclusivity you can purchase additional seats at the full adult fare.
Due to health and safety we do not allow children ages 0 - 4 years to travel on the Pullman Dining services.
As the Pullman Dining train set consists of heritage carriages, it is not possible to use a wheelchair inside the train, and thus all customers must be able to walk to their seats. For further information email info@nymr.co.uk.
There are toilets, baby-changing facilities and additional access facilities at Pickering and selected other stations along the line. There are also refreshment facilities and gift shops at many of the stations, as well as a Customer Services office at Pickering. The railway is delighted to welcome pushchairs and dogs on its services (subject to available space. Please note there is a charge for dogs to travel on board)
