With picnic and play areas in its beautiful grounds, The Museum boasts displays covering the main aspects of the history of the Borough including ironstone mining, maritime heritage, natural and social history while the 'Little Gallery Upstairs' features a vibrant programme of temporary exhibitions by local artists.
During term time, friendly Education Section staff can provide handling sessions for schools as well as exciting activities during the school holidays. The newly refurbished café offers a range of tempting refreshments.
With disabled access to all parts of the Museum EVERYONE can enjoy what we have to offer and it's all FREE!

From the A19 follow the brown tourist signs which will direct you onto the A174. Or you can take the A66 to Redcar and then follow the A1042 onto Kirkleatham Lane.
