Life as Seen on the Cinema Screen

Life as Seen on the Cinema Screen

Details

10 Sessions with George Cromack - Exploring the ways in which cinema represents the ups and downs of life, from childhood, rites of passage and family life to great escapes, moments of crisis, restless retirement, health issues and all things in-between.

Comedy to tragedy, the everyday to fantasy and adventure - cinematic portrayals of the dilemmas and preoccupations faced by individuals at particular points in life have provided us with some screen gems.

Does the depiction of specific age-groups and the challenges they face change with time and differing cultures?

How does the cinema portray the interactions of differing generations, will there always be fixed stereotypes?

We examine a selection of films exploring the many (mis)adventures life has to offer. Suitable for beginners and returners.
