Details
Despite its size and close proximity to Scarborough, parts of the village of Scalby still retain the essence of its early character and charm. A small stream flows alongside the church which stands on a small knoll in the centre of the village. Houses stretch down to Sea Cut, an artificial channel that takes some of the waters of the River Derwent out to the sea at Scalby Mills. Village also consists of picnic area, bed & breakfast accommodation, restaurant and cafe/tea shop, General Store/Shop, public house serving bar meals, Church.
The public toilets encompass female toilets, male toilets and one disabled access toilet. These toilets are open 7 days a week 24 hours a day and are funded by Scalby Toilets Trust. (Donations greatly appreciated).
