Ahoy there shipmates! And all aboard for the Scarborough Seafest Maritime Festival.

Come and join us and celebrate the Yorkshire Coasts’ amazing Maritime Heritage, in this our 19th year, on West Pier, South Bay Scarborough. This popular event is one of the key events that take place during the summer along the coast and is attended by over 20,000 people over the weekend 21st – 23rd July. This year we are proud to give a hearty Seafest Ahoy to our main sponsor, Keepmoat Homes - community regeneration and housing developer – welcome aboard!

Alongside mouth- watering street food stalls showcasing food from around the region and the world, we have the ever popular Scarborough Hospitality Food Theatre featuring live cookery demonstrations by celebrated Yorkshire chefs, including Debbie Raw from BBC2 Series ‘Further Back in Time for Dinner’, Steph Moon, Seafood Chef of the Year Rob Green and Eat Me Café’s Martin Hyde – with a little help from Stephen Joseph Theatres, Little Voice Actors!

On top of this we are delighted to welcome new head chef from the Star in the Harbour Wayne Gildroy and the Director of Operations form the Star in the City, Matt Hunter!

Whilst you enjoy delicious locally brewed ales from The Great Yorkshire Brewery Ale tent, you can enjoy fantastic live music from local bands, groups and singers while soaking up the amazing views of our coastline and town.

For a little retail therapy, we have a wide range of stalls selling the best the region has to offer, from hand crafted jewellery and crafts, to artisan foods and drink.

This year thanks to a grant from Arts Council England we have exciting Street theatre acts’ and music such as the Hard times Orchestra, Jelly Rolls Band, Suitcase Circus, alongside Comedienne Justine Sless and Close up magic, all adding to the lively atmosphere. Watch out for ‘Wayfarer’ the giant puppet from Animated Objects Theatre Co, and keep an eye out for ‘The Trawlers’ with their giant yellow wellies!

There’s plenty for the kids to do too! Join responsible fishing with their beach doodling and stone balancing sculptures. Join the hidden horizons team and explore the natural world around us; from dinosaurs to rock-pools, be captivated by lunchtime storytelling with Adrian Spendlow , drop in on art workshops but watch out for the Fairly Fresh Fish Co.! – all is not what it seems when you meet these two fishmongers!
