The Greasy Pole

The Greasy Pole

Details

The fire station at Great Wellington, a rural little village somewhere in Mellinghamshire, is at the centre of a political controversy.

The local County Council, strapped for cash, has been carrying out a major review of the station's viability, and is due to make its recommendations public in the next week. If that recommendation is closure, as is quite likely, the nearest fire station to Great Wellington would be in the town of Mellingham, some 28 miles away. There has been uproar at the prospect of its closure - and the issue has now become a national story, with TV, radio, and newspaper coverage and a concerted media campaign on social media. It is known that the Council has identified three possible courses of action - but not which one will be selected.

Today is the day the Council official decides the future of Great Wellington fire station... but someone thinks it will be the wrong decision and is determined to stop him!

Saturday 25th August to start at 7pm, only £27.95 to include a 3 course evening meal!
