Tour de Yorkshire 2019 - Stage 3 at the Yorkshire Coast

The Tour de Yorkshire Ride offers a unique mix of Tour de France delivery combined with Yorkshire hospitality and beauty resulting in a sportive dream day. This is your chance to ride many of the same roads as the pros before they do, including the pro finish line, complete with support from the waiting crowds. Please note: this event is an open road sportive.

Stage 3 will be rolling out of Bridlington where the riders head directly into the North York Moors National Park. The Cote de Silpho is looming large shortly after Hackness and is the first of the day’s five categorised climbs. With the opening intermediate spring being contested at Harwood Dale, the route continues north through Robin Hood’s Bay where they hit the Cote de Hooks House Farm. Then it’s on to Whitby, right before the riders enter town they tackle the second intermediate sprint in front of Whitby Abbey. After passing through Sandsend, it is there that the Cote de Lythe Bank will be waiting for riders. Once they have crested the summit the route heads inland, but the climbing doesn’t stop, the Cotes be Grosmont and Ugglebarnby are positioned just 7km apart and splits in the peloton could well occur if the climbing specialists go on the attack. As the riders drop into Scarborough the pace ramps up as they sweep along South Bay, around the castle walls and onto the now-legendary North Bay.
