Discover the heart of Victorian Scarborough on the South Bay. Established in 1881, the Central Tramway is Scarborough’s historic cliff railway linking the beach and Foreshore Road with the town centre.
The company has the distinction of being the oldest surviving Tramway company in the country. Over 138 years since its first journey, the original corporation is still transporting passengers up and down Scarborough's steep seafront today with a regular, reliable and friendly service.

By road:
Follow signs for Scarborough Railway Station. With Station on your right and facing down the town centre turn right at the traffic signals. Bare left and at giveway turn left onto Somerset Terrace. Go straight through next set of lights and take 2nd exit at roundabout onto Falconers Road. The Central Tramway is on the right hand side as the road turns left onto St Nicholas Street.
