Tomorrow's Ghosts Festival

Tomorrow's Ghosts Festival

Details

Tomorrow’s Ghosts Festival is a celebration of all things Gothic whilst embracing a wide range of alternative culture. The Festival aims to host both established and up and coming bands to reflect the diversity of the goth and alternative music scene as well as diversifying into film, art and spoken word.

Tomorrow’s Ghosts aims to be an inclusive event where everyone is welcome. We are committed to supporting charities through the event as well as supporting other events across the town which all contribute to the experience of visiting Whitby for the Biannual Goth Festival.

2019 Line-up -->
(more to be announced)
- NEW MODEL ARMY (Formed by Justin Sullivan in Bradford in 1980, New Model Army’s beginnings were inspired by Northern Soul, Punk Rock and the incendiary atmosphere of the times.)

- POP WILL EAT ITSELF (2018 saw Pop Will Eat Itself return to an almost-complete original line-up. Graham Crabb, original co-frontman and main songwriter welcomes back original members guitarist Richard March (also of Bentley Rhythm Ace), drummer Fuzz Townshend (now also a TV star via Car S.O.S.) and keyboardist Adam Mole.)

- CHAMELEONS VOX (During the Chameleons' early career, the British music press often used terms such as "sonic architects" and "sonic cathedrals" when describing the band, due to their atmospheric sound.)

- TERMINAL GODS (Terminal Gods are a rock and roll band from London. They have a drum machine, some synths and some guitars.)

- MERCURY'S ANTENNAE (Ethereal, hypnotic, driving, cinematic… these are good descriptions of Portland-based Mercury’s Antennae. Comprised of vocalist Dru Allen, multi-instrumentalist Erick r. Scheid and bassist Cindy Coulter, their sound ranges from shoegazey pop to unadorned acoustic beauty, earning them comparisons to ‘90s-era Projekt artists.)

- SAIGON BLUE RAIN (Saigon Blue Rain, formerly Stupid Bitch Reject was formed in september 2012 by Ophelia and Franck. Their first self-titled EP, released in March 2013 on Afmusic, has been critically acclaimed.)

- CHRISTINE PLAYS VIOLA (Away, 1919, Motorama, Frank Christine Plays Viola is a band Abruzzo dedicated to a darkwave / post punk articulate, nuanced and born in Italy.)

- SWEET ERMENGARDE (Critically acclaimed as Germany’s by far most elaborate gothic rock band, Sweet Ermengarde echoes the British 1980s decade in all its gloom and doom.)
