Details

The award winning Whitby Gin is hand crafted in North Yorkshire, hand distilled in small batches using our copper column still called Stanley. We fill, label and package each of our bottles by hand making us a true Yorkshire crafted spirit.

Botanicals
Our botanicals are a true depiction of where land meets sea.
The carefully selected botanicals are a mix of the traditional elements including juniper, coriander seed, citrus peels and liquorice root. Along with hand foraged heather flowers from the North York Moors, local honey and sugar kelp hand picked from Robin Hood Bay.

You may notice a pearlescent glow when tonic or ice is added to our gin. It can go from clear to cloudy because of the flavoursome oils released from our botanicals. This can happen because we choose not to chill-filter our gin. To do this would remove the oils and in turn reduce the bold flavour.

Taste
Whitby Gin is a sweet savour gin. It is refreshing on the tongue with a lasting finish representing harsh North Sea crashing against East Cliff, the home of the Whitby Abbey. The lasting earthy finish signifies the range of the rolling heather moorland.

History
The idea of Whitby gin was born following a camping trip in the outer Hebrides by a Yorkshire couple. After 9 months of working day and night in their parents utility room the first bottle was on the shelf for April 2018 which went on to receive two international awards within 3 months of launching and being shorting for the Quality Food and Drink Awards.
