Named Beach of the Year 2018 by the Sunday Times, Filey's idyllic five-mile long stretch of golden sand is perfect for family days out in the summer and long, bracing walks in the winter - bring your best four-legged friend (but don't forget to clean up after them!).
Spectacular Filey Brigg, a rocky peninsula jutting into the North Sea, offers a rewarding walk with rock pools rich with marine life (keep an eye on the tides), and also gives access to the cliff paths leading to the Country Park, providing stunning coastal views and a picturesque nature trail.
"The perfect holiday for me and my dogs! Walking along Filey beach with the sand and sea between your toes, you'll almost feel like you're abroad." @awaywiththefaireiesx
Spend some time on the beach, the retreat to the Coble Landing with its colourful fishing boats and cosy sea-view cafes and kiosks. Enjoy a traditional ice cream cone or fish and chips, then take a leisurely wander down the adjacent promenade with its delightful coastal-themed sculptures.
Back into town, Crescent Gardens with its bandstand, and Glen Gardens with its boating lake and play park, each offer their own unique charms, whilst the lagoons of Filey Dams are a haven for birdwatchers.
And if a more adrenaline-fuelled experience is what you're after, Filey's coastline also offers excellent opportunities for kayaking, coasteering and other watersports.
