Chain Bridge Cottage is a gorgeous detached cottage on the riverside at Ruswarp, just a one mile walk or a few minutes’ drive from Whitby. It has off road parking for 2 cars and sleeps 4 in a double en-suite bedroom and a twin bedroom with bathroom.

There is an enclosed garden with a sunny decking area with seating. The garden runs down to the river and steam trains run past the front of the cottage. Your dogs are welcome and stay free as long as you remove any evidence of their presence.
The views of the river Esk are fabulous, with people telling us they have seen seals, otters and kingfishers.

Ruswarp is a pretty village with a pub (The Bridge Inn) on the riverside serving good food and hand pulled ales. The village butchers is locally famous. There is also a general store, Boat hire is available opposite the cottage next to the tearooms and there is a miniature train ride and other childrens attractions.

The cottage is available for 7 night stays Saturday to Saturday in Summer and for shorted 2,3 or 4 night stays out of summer season.

Secluded coves, sandy beaches and pretty fishing villages play host to an array of wildlife where the sound of the waves, the freshest sea air and an abundance of seabirds can be enjoyed. The Cleveland Way provides walkers with access to unparalleled views from the coast path, whilst cyclists can exploit the vista from the former Scarborough to Whitby railway line. Far from the 'Madding Crowd' just 1.5 miles to the South of Whitby lies Summerfield Farm.

The cottages are furnished with many luxuries, some antique furnishings, co-ordinating fabrics and soft furnishings. Two cottages offer exceptional disabled and less abled facilities including Wetroom / bathroom with grab rails – Downstairs bedroom – Wheelchair access
No steps from the car park to the cottage – Adjustable height bed (Hoist Access).

Open all the year round you can cuddle up by the log burning stove in winter and take in the delights of Whitby and the traditional seaside holiday in summer.

The brooding North York Moors are only a short distance away. This is the home of the North Yorkshire Moors railway and of course the 'Heartbeat' village of Goathland. There is so much to see and do you'll wonder how you will fit everything in.

The newly finished cottage is situated behind No. 4 and is close to Bagdale Hall and all the local attractions and amenities. The property boasts an outside table and chairs, and parking for 1 vehicle. With parking at a premium in Whitby you will find this a big bonus. Downstairs is an open plan kitchen, dining room and living room with a log burning stove for those cosy evenings. 

Grosmont House Bed and Breakfast

Grosmont House sits at the heart of the picturesque village of Grosmont, sheltered by the gentle hills and the with the river Esk within earshot. A late Georgian townhouse, Grosmont house was once a well appointed family home, with large windows in the bedrooms and period features throughout. Open log fires ensure Grosmont House remains a cosy and warm place to return to after a day walking on the Moors.

The main building is being extensively renovated, with no expense spared in restoring Grosmont House to former glories, whilst modernising to ensure the absolute comfort of all our guests. New heating and hot water systems are being introduced, with under floor heating in select areas. All new bathrooms will ensure all of our guest rooms are en suite, whilst a new dining room and lounge with provide the perfect space to relax in.

Grosmont house has six guest bedrooms, including one master bedroom, 4 queen rooms and a spacious twin, perfect for children or friends sharing. All of our new rooms will feature luxury fine cotton bed linen, soft towels, free wifi, complementary tea and coffee, flat screen t.v's, guest slippers and luxury soaps and shower products.
