Sandsend

We’re so sorry not to be able to welcome you at the moment but now is not the right time.

It’s important we keep you and our local communities’safe. Many of our businesses remain closed in line with government guidelines. Our public toilets and car parks are also closed and there is no lifeguard cover on our beaches.

Everything will still be here when this is over and we can’t wait to welcome visitors back again, but only when it is safe to do so.

Please help us by playing your part in controlling the virus spread and only come back when we can welcome you safely.

Just above Whitby, this gorgeous little village stretches along a sweep of fine beach, divided by a stream running into the sea, with clear views of historic Whitby Abbey. Sandsend is great for families, those looking for a romantic and nostalgic break, surfers and fossil hunters. It boasts fine food, from simple beach shacks through tea rooms to some seriously swanky restaurants, a gallery selling the work of some of the region’s best artists, and one of the coast’s premier hotels, with not just one, but two spas – one for dogs, and another for their owners!
