Filey's surrounding area has many places to visit such as the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Dalby Forest drive with its picnic and bird watching areas, Bempton Living Seas Centre, Sewerby Park, Castle Howard, Thornton-le-Dale, York with its Minster, museums and Jorvik Viking Centre. For the more energetic there are other activities: sailing, fishing, pony trekking, tennis, golf, swimming and walks along the cliff tops to name but a few.
