The Ellerby Country Inn is a lovely establishment situated in Ellerby village, just off the A174. We have a 55 seater restaurant, and additional seating for a further 40 diners in our bar and small dining area.We are open every day 12-9pm and booking is advisable throughout summer for Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch. 01947 840342.
Our fayre is high quality traditional food at good value for money. Our steak pie, in particular, is a customer favourite and definitely worth trying.
Popular dishes like steak, cod and chips, lasagne and scampi are excellent. We also have daily specials where our chefs test new dishes and put on some customer favourites. Lamb shank, medallions of beef, smoked salmon ravioli and Whitby crab salad all make an appearance.
We have separate menus for children, coeliac and vegan diets.
We provide great service, make good food and have a friendly team, all of which make The Ellerby a lovely place to have a lazy lunch or relaxing dinner. We are able to cater for large parties and special family occasions and have a wide range of set menus.
To aid service, parties of 10 or more will be asked to pre-order.
We have a great location, just 3 miles from Staithes, I mile from Runswick Bay and 8 miles from Whitby. A perfect spot to stop for a quick bite, an evening meal or just, a swift half.
Dogs are not permitted inside the Ellerby but are very welcome in our garden. Families are welcome and we have colouring mats, crayons and a garden trail for kids.

Take A171 Road which runs from Whitby to Guisborough. If traveling towrads Whitby you pass Scaling Dam and turn off left signposted Sandsend.
After crossing two cattlegrids tirn left down a hill signposted Ellerby. We are in the middle of the village on the left.
By Public Transport:
No x56 bus Whitby to Middlesbrough stops outside hotel.
