About
La Rosa Hotel is situated in a beautiful Victorian town house on Whitby’s West Cliff with amazing views across the harbour and out to sea.Number 5 East Terrace is 'blue plaqued' as the place where Lewis Carroll resided during his many visits to Whitby.
The hotel is furnished with vintage and antique finds from auctions, flea markets and car boot sales. More boudoir than boutique, there are eight double rooms each with a distinctive La Rosa style and personality.
Rooms
We are designed to be a place of romance, fun and escapism.
None of the rooms have televisions but we do have a great selection of vintage books and vinyl to browse as well as free wifi.
Our 8 double rooms are all en suite - 6 with baths and 2 with showers.
We do not have any twin or single rooms.
In addition to our double rooms, we also have The Crow’s Nest, a self-contained suite for groups of up to six people.
There are three bedrooms, a living room with TV and DVD player, crockery and a dressing-up box.
The Crow’s Nest has one ensuite shower room as well as a separate bathroom and toilet.
Room rates range from £95 to £165 per night for our doubles with the Crow’s Nest at £250 per night (£275 at weekends)
Check in is from 4PM Check out is by 12 noon.
Breakfast Breakfast is a vegetarian continental hamper delivered to your door containing a picnic of fresh pastries, juice, coffee and local delights.
Tea Room
The hotel has a tea room with magnificent views across the harbour to Whitby Abbey, where guests can browse cabinets of curiosities and kitsch-like wonders inspired by the amazing Whitby Museum.
The tea room is available for private hire for up to 12 people, offering good old fashioned seaside fun to all who sail in her.

The hotel has a sustainability policy, which is to source locally and ethically, recycle and upcycle.
Our toiletries are all hand-made using quality natural ingredients.
