Meadowbeck Shepherd Huts

Shepherds Watch is 1 of 3 delightful Shepherds Huts located on our small holding at Meadowbeck Holiday Cottages and enjoying wonderful sea and countryside views. Set in a peaceful location within the North Yorkshire Moors, yet within easy reach of Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, Sandsend, Ravenscar and Scarborough. Beautiful coastal and moorland walks on the doorstep, along with fabulous dark skies for star gazing.
Shepherds Watch provides a comfortable retreat for 2 and is ideally located for exploring the coast and inland villages. The hut is clad in Larch and fully insulated - the interior is countryside chic and provides an inviting double bed to snuggle up and a Pot Belly log burning stove for cozy nights in. The Hut has electricity, hot/cold water and is fully equipped with a flat screen TV, Belfast Sink, 2 ring Mini Stove with electric grill, Mini fridge, Fold away dining table with stools and 2 comfortable chairs.
Outside: Private toilet and Shower Facility attached to the rear of the Shepherds Hut. There is also a private fenced garden area with outside furniture and freestanding hammock.
Just 10 metres walk from the hut is a guest games room with Pool Table, Bar Football, Darts Board, Flat screen TV, Free WiFi and comfortable seating for relaxing. Within the utility area is a washing machine, ironing board and iron.
For anyone wishing to experience staying in a Shepherds Hut with all mod cons - this is a real treat and can be a new adventure, romantic getaway, peaceful retreat or anything you want it to be.

Located in our meadow at Meadowbeck Holiday Cottages - our two Off-Grid Shepherd Huts sit side by side. Available to book individually (Each sleep 2). Aptly named Deer's Leap and Hide & Sea - the huts provide a complete getaway and cozy retreat for camping with a difference. Our meadow is full of wildlife - shush and you may sneak a peek at the wild deer grazing before leaping into the woodland.
Wonderful views over the North York Moors and to the sea.
Each hut is equipped with a comfortable double bed, Bench seating area, wood burning stove, hand made furniture, sink and kitchen area (pots and pans included). No electricity in the hut (LED candles and a torch provided) - all the better for gazing at the amazing dark skies we enjoy in this part of the North York Moors.
There is a self composting loo on site and shared between both Shepherds Huts.
Our barn nearby ( 150 metres & 3 minute walk away ) has electricity (and yes a WiFi connection for guests who want to escape but just can't bring themselves to leave the technology behind) along with games room for guests use - includes TV, sofas, pool table, bar football and darts board. There is also a shower facility in the barn with hot and cold water and separate Ladies and Gents Toilets. FREE parking available.

Outdoor Camp Fire Area - shared by both huts.

You can bring along your own camping stove for boiling a kettle/cooking. Alternatively you can hire a camping stove and purchase the gas from us. BBQ available to use - guests to provide their own charcoal or can purchase from us. .
And if none of that appeals - there is an electric kettle provided in our barn, a café/bistro serving food including breakfast just across the road and takeaway hot drinks available from the garage next door to the café. The Flask Inn Pub serves lunch and evening Meals until 8.30pm. All options covered!!

Sorry but being off- grid and a shared campsite with the other hut, we are unable to accommodate dogs in Hide & Sea and Deer's Leap
