About
Skerry Hall Farm B&B is a traditional small farm on the edge of the North York Moors overlooking Robin Hood’s Bay and Fylingthorpe. The farm’s buildings cluster around the farmhouse and stone-built barns which date from the seventeenth century. The farm, which lies half a mile off the public road, is run by Alan and Jan Adams and has been home to the small Skerry Herd of pedigree Dexter cattle since 2004. We also keep a small number of sheep and poultry.
Set in a quiet, secluded position, nestling into the hillside below heather-clad moorland, with spectacular sea views views over Robin Hood’s Bay, Skerry Hall offers the perfect bolt hole for those seeking first class accommodation in a house full of character.
You can stay in one of three individually styled beautiful rooms, each with an en-suite shower room. All rooms have HD satellite television, complimentary hospitality facilities including homemade baking, complimentary toiletries and hairdryer etc..
Room 1 is a standard double at ground floor level with a view of Robin Hood’s Bay. It has a generous shower room. Room 2 is a standard double at first floor level and has a south facing window with garden views. Room 3 is a large room with a kingsize bed, sitting area and a spectacular view across the Bay. All three rooms have independently controlled electric heating for your year-round comfort.
Breakfast is served in our breakfast/sitting room, with its stone-flagged floor and underfloor heating, which has a commanding view over the Bay. Guests are free to use this room throughout their stay. We provide a selection of books, magazines and guides, and local maps that you can borrow during your stay.
As lovers of good food we ensure that our breakfasts feature the best of locally sourced and seasonal produce – including eggs from our own hens, sausages made by our own butcher, dry-cured bacon from a prize winning local butcher and homemade preserves. You can enjoy a full English breakfast, or one of our alternatives of your choice, including vegetarian options.
Skerry Hall Farm is well-located on the footpath network, and enjoys ready access to good cycle routes, including the Cinder Track - the former Whitby - Scarborough railway. The route of the Tour de Yorkshire has passed the end of our access, at the summit of one of the three major hill climbs, each of the first three years that it has been held. We have secure cycle storage for our guests use and facility for bike washing in the yard.
We have adequate free car parking for three cars and free wi-fi connection to our fibre-optic broadband.
Please note that all bookings are for a minimum of two nights and we are unable to accommodate pets or children under 12 years of age.
The cottage garden and its garden furniture, with spectacular views across Robin Hood's Bay, is available for guests to enjoy throughout their stay.
