About
You can be sure of a warm welcome from landlord Andrew Slingsby and his partner Emily Thompson. Having both grown up in the local area, Andy & Emily took on the role of managing the inn in March 2009, shortly after graduating from university. The couple are very passionate about providing excellent service and upholding high standards, and they have worked very hard to build up The Fairfax Arms into the success that it is today. Never afraid to try new ideas, Andy and Emily run the inn with dynamic enthusiasm, which has enabled The Fairfax to prosper and flourish whilst still retaining its traditional character and charm. The couple head up a young, friendly team who always go the extra mile to ensure that customers enjoy their visit.
In June 2011, owners Robert & Edward Fawcett decided that they too wanted to play a more active role in the management of The Fairfax Arms. Since the brothers took on their positions the inn has seen re-investment to refurbish and refresh the interior and exterior, as well as upgrades in the bedrooms including flat screen televisions and ipod docking stations throughout. There are many more gradual improvements planned to ensure that The Fairfax Arms continues to impress and uphold its growing reputation.
