About
The Old Forge is a welcome family home, just outside the "chocolate box" village of Thornton-le-Dale, and 4 miles from Pickering. Private parking is behind, in the courtyard. The house is fully centrally heated and double-glazed, and all rooms are en-suite. Breakfast is served in the dining room, originally part of the Blacksmiths cottage.
We have so many places of interest within a short journey including the NYM Railway at Pickering, Dalby Forest, York, Flamingo Land, Eden Camp, Helmsley market town and walled garden, Whitby, Scarborough, the North Yorkshire Moors, and many more. An added advantage is the excellent public transport. The bus-stop is outside The Old Forge, enabling guests to leave their car behind for the day. Guests are welcome from 5pm (unless prior arrangements made) and are asked to vacate their rooms by 10.30am.
