The Old Post Office is in Thorpe Bassett, a quiet, rural village nestling at the foot of the Wolds, only 1 mile away from the A64.

Its within easy reach of York, Scarborough and the North York Moors.  Local attractions include Castle Howard, Eden Camp, Flamingoland and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR), of Heartbeat and Harry Potter fame.

You can hop onto the NYMR steam train at nearby Pickering.  The railway's route takes in some of the most spectacular views of the moors and surrounding area.  This takes you all the way up to the popular destination of Whitby, with its world famous Abbey, dramatic coastline and great choice of atractions.

A traditional building  The Old Post Office dates back to the turn of the century and is situated amongst some of the UK's most scenic countryside.  Sensitively renovated and with all modern amenities, it has been designed and furnished to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Exit A1 and take A64 Eastbound (York/Scarborough?.  Bypass Tadcaster, York and Malton. Pass by Scagglethorpe.  On enterting Rillington take the next righ down Collinsons Lane.  Drive down Collinsons Lane for exactly one mile.  The Old Post Office is siituated on the left hand side of the road. (stone sign at property entrance) opposite Park Farm.
