Carriage at The Old Station

About

The Old Station is made up of four letting units, three railway carriages, each sleeping up to six, and one former ticket office sleeping four (adults only), all located in Allerston.

This unique accommodation provides an excellent base from which to explore North Yorkshire's countryside, coast and attractions. Allerston is situated on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors and Dalby Forest, just 12 miles away from the coast. The attractive market town of Pickering, home of the North York Moors Railway, is only 5 miles away. The village pub, The Cayley Arms, is 0.7 miles away at the top of the village and provide an excellent and varied menu. There are many other eating establishments close by.

There are 2 acres of grounds providing space for children to play, with open countryside beyond. Each carriage has a picnic table and BBQs are available. There is a selection of children's toys, games and bicycles. The proprietors are on hand in the station house if advice or information is required.

The Ticket Office and associated staff accommodation have been carefully renovated and converted into a spacious, two super king size, (or twin), bedroomed self-catering cottage, (for adults only). The kitchen has all the facilities that you might expect, including a freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer.

The lounge and dining area includes several restored period features plus a wood burning stove in the original ticket office fireplace.

The beds in both bedrooms can be set up as a super king size or two twins. Each bedroom has its own wc and a large walk-in shower.
