An exterior image of a glamping pod at The Private Hill

The Private Hill is a truly unique destination. Somewhere you can be at one with nature but without having to sacrifice any of the luxuries of life. Absolutely ensuite facilities, including a flushing toilet and hot shower, fabulous furnishings and one of the most comfortable beds in the world. Made in Yorkshire of course!

Oh, and we are officially rated as a 5* Gold standard property by the UK's Quality in Tourism.

With room service breakfast, snacks, afternoon tea and a full three course dinner your Head Cook will ensure you have everything you could possibly want. There's a spacious fully licensed decking area outside Jane's Dome with fabulous BBQ facilities and each dome even has its very own fire-pit (May-October) to enjoy the spectacular sunsets unique to this part of the county.

The Private Hill is a totally farm-free area within the farm! Enjoy all the benefits of being in an absolutely gorgeous setting, with views for many miles, but without the need to put your wellies on.....if you don't want to. Watch the sheep lazily graze the lush grasses, or the friendly, inquisitive, Alpacas all from the safety and comfort of your own little piece of North Yorkshire

Helmsley, the Wolds, Pickering and Pocklington are just some of the wonders that are nearby, and well worth exploring, as well as the incredibly beautiful City of York which is only 25 mins away.

The farm offers superb geodesic domes, each named after one of its earlier prized pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle. Every dome is just like a room you would expect to find in a 5 star boutique hotel with sumptuously comfortable twin, or super king beds (your choice on booking), luxury sheets and duvets, a choice of pillows and of course a stocked minibar fridge with a small freezer too.

A maximum of two adults can be accommodated in each dome plus up to two children (max.age 12)

Inside is a gorgeous wood burning stove, a small kitchenette with a Nespresso coffee machine and Miele microwave oven, plus access to streamed Sonos music. You'll find views that stretch for over 60 miles when you open your curtains on a fine day.

The Private Hill site remains open year round.

Ultra luxury individual ensuite geodesic domes set on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Full onsite freshly prepared breakfasts, afternoon teas, and three course dinner. Fully licensed bar and award winning service levels.

Road Directions

If coming by car please do not use the postcode with SatNav as most of the houses in and around the village of Acklam seem to share the same one! You'll end up in the middle of the village and may not see anyone to ask directions. Instead, please put the village of Acklam (North Yorkshire NOT Middlesborough) into your SatNav and then Thrussendale Road. That should bring you to The Private Hill Entrance which you will see discreetly signposted off the lane. If all that fails please just call and we will 'talk you in'. Luckily mobile phone signal in this part of the County is incredibly good. If coming by train to Malton just let us know what time you will arrive and we will happily collect you and drop you back when you leave. All a complimentary part of The Private Hill Experience.
