About

The Wharncliffe is located overlooking the glorious North Bay with spectacular sea views. The guest house is situated within easy walking distance of the town, harbour, and Scarborough castle, and just a few minutes from Peasholm Park, the bowls centre and cricket ground.

Scarborough’s theatres are a ten – fifteen minute walk away, and the town centre with a variety of restaurants and shops is just a few minutes away.

The Wharncliffe has ten individually styled, comfortable, centrally heated, double en-suite rooms, three of the rooms have king size beds. All guest rooms include colour flat screen television with DVD player and Freeview, a radio alarm clock, hair dryer, courtesy tray; with tea and coffee making facilities and local tourist information. Each room has en-suite facilities with Fluffy white towels and complimentary toiletries; just one of the en-suites has a bath rather than a shower. Several bedrooms at The Wharncliffe also benefit from fantastic sea views of the bay. Whilst the south facing town view rooms look over Scarborough towards Oliver’s Mount.

The award winning breakfast is served in the spacious dining room; there is plenty of variety for different tastes, we are committed to using local produce wherever possible. We offer fruit juices, cereals, fresh and preserved fruit and yoghurts each day. Guests may choose to follow their choice with a freshly cooked, full English breakfast, or to opt for a lighter alternative, such as smoked salmon and scrambled free range eggs. All selections may be accompanied by toast and locally produced preserves, and tea or coffee. If you prefer vegetarian sausages, fruit, herbal or green tea, decaffeinated coffee or Soya milk, just let us know.

The Wharncliffe is a totally smoke free establishment. We were pleased to be awarded the Roy Castle Gold Award for providing totally smoke free air in 2002.

There is an extensive range of local and tourist information on display in reception, and in our comfortable sea-view guest lounge. Guests can take it easy in the sea view lounge, or have a drink in the licensed bar.

The Wharncliffe is the ideal location for couples to relax and unwind; we look forward to meeting you soon.
