About
Opened in 2017 after an extensive refurbishment of the old Tourist Information Centre in the heart of Whitby, opposite the town’s railway station, The Star Inn The Harbour is a stylish and airy Brasserie-style restaurant perfect for all kinds of celebrations. The restaurant serves traditional fish and chips, but also a good range of ‘modern Yorkshire’ fish and meat dishes, including signature surf ‘n’ turf dishes, combining the best of both worlds. Literally situated on the harbourside, fresh fish and shellfish are almost a ‘given’, but with meat supplied from local farms and game from the estates of the North Yorkshire Moors, the restaurant’s kitchens have a great supply of produce on their doorstep.
The restaurant is part of local lad, Chef Andrew Pern’s family of restaurants, including The Star Inn The City in York and the Michelin-starred Star Inn at Harome, all of which are known for combining amazing locations with well-cooked seasonal foods, a great variety of wines and ales – and friendly but knowledgeable service for the full hospitality package.
