About

The Old Town Hall can be found within the Market Place in Whitby just off Church Street. The building was commissioned by lord of the manor, Nathaniel Cholmley and was built in 1788. This was also the location for the first ever Whitby Literary and Philosophical Society meeting in September 1823. The Old Town Hall is a grade 2 listed building.

Nowadays, The Old Town Hall is amongst the bustling hub where many tourists gather.
