About
Founded in 1801, Scarborough is one of the oldest lifeboat stations still in operation. Its new state-of-the-art lifeboathouse opened on 27 November 2016. The crews have received 35 awards for gallantry and today the station operates a Shannon class all-weather lifeboat and a D class inshore lifeboat.
The RNLI is the charity that provides a 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and Republic of Ireland. In the event of an emergency at sea call 999.
