About

Cedarbarn are a farm shop selling a variety of local produce including fresh meat from the farm, fresh 'pick your own' fruit and vegetables, cakes and preserves. All products are local and seasonal. There is also a childrens play area and on site cafe to try some of the farms produce. Cedarbarn also offers a Maize Maze as a visitor attraction and a miniature railway!

Cedarbarn Cafe

Our award-winning café is popular with locals and visitors to North Yorkshire alike; that's because we focus on preparing traditional, wholesome food with the freshest ingredients possible - many of which we grow ourselves. Customers can sit and relax in the cosy café or in our beautifully landscaped outdoor herb garden, taking in the lovely views whilst enjoying good hearty fare.

Our menu and specials board reflect the growing patterns on the farm, featuring asparagus and lamb in the spring and a wealth of strawberries in high summer. Our pure bred Aberdeen Angus Beef takes pride of place on the menu, appearing in favourite dishes such as Cottage Pie, Beef Casserole and juicy Sirloin Steak. It also provides the main highlight of our famous Sunday lunch! But there's plenty of other choice too, such as Scarborough Fish Pie and several vegetarian options. If you just need a light snack, we have delicious sandwiches, excellent coffee and a great selection of cakes and scones which are all home-made and almost impossible to resist.

We're proud to say that the Cedarbarn Café has won the Deliciouslyorkshire award for Best Use of Regional Produce on a Menu for two years running, and has also won Best On-Farm Café at the National FARMA awards.

We're open seven days a week, so whether you're a local passing by or on holiday in the area, please call in and taste our fantastic, farm-fresh cooking for yourself.

Miniature Railway

Hop aboard the ‘Flying Yorkshireman’ loco for a trip around the fruit fields and in season you can even stop off to pick your own soft fruit.

The newest attraction to the Cedarbarn is the Miniature Railway. At the recent grand opening families, local business people and the Mayor of Pickering – turned out to take a trip on the new 600-metre train track, which quite literally gives a platform to our most famous crops. Purchase your tickets at the replica Victorian railway station and ticket office and hop on ‘The Flying Yorkshireman’ a replica Warship loco, your journey takes you through Redgate tunnel and along the track with views of vegetable patches, apple orchards, asparagus beds and soft fruit fields. In season you can even hop off the carriages to enjoy a spot of fruit picking.

Alongside the station is the ‘Flying Yorkshireman Dining Cart’ from which you can enjoy refreshments including gourmet Burgers which have been hand made in the Cedarbarn butchery and toppings such as Yorkshire blue cheese & homemade relish. Yummy!
