About

Richard Burton is a professional landscape artist and founder of Coastal Studio Arts. Using all mediums but particularly watercolour and oil, he gains inspiration from the stunning local scenery and wildlife along the East Yorkshire Coast. A keen historian, Richard has produced a range of nostalgic watercolours depicting local scenes in by-gone days.

Richard offers friendly and informal tuition to all ages and abilities in the purpost built workshop or outdoors, weather permitting. Students have the opportunity to watch demonstrations and receive individual tuition in small classes of up to 10 with the option of using oils, watercolours and pastels.

The Art Gallery offers a vast range of original paintings, prints, photographs and has a large selection of locally produced pottery and crafts. Also displayed is a large collection of old black and white photographs dating back to the early 1900s which provide a fascinating insight into life in and around Bridlington and Flamborough areas.

Located in the village of Buckton / Bempton on the beautiful East Yorkshire coast, close to the famous RSPB Bempton Cliffs with magnificent views. Bempton station is 1 mile away on the Hull - Scarborough line.
