Celebrating South Cliff Gardens - Opening Day

About

To celebrate the completion of the renovations to the gardens we will be holding an opening event.

Beginning at 11am with a formal opening ceremony in the Italian Gardens, this will be followed by an afternoon of live music also in the Italian Gardens.

12pm Wellbeing Choir
1pm The Tall Boy
2pm The Staxton Singers

There will also be a Living Library, portrait trail through the gardens and a guided walk of the renovations starting at 1pm at the Clocktower.

Don't miss roving poet Dr Rhyme who will be ready with his type writer to create personalised on the spot poems and giving a special reading of his latest work in the large shelter in the Italian Gardens at 3pm.

We have family fun planned through out the event with the brilliant Kate Boddy leading Alice In Wonderland themed crafts in Beeforth's Hive and the wonderful Wildcats sharing outdoor crafts in the Shuttleworth Gardens. Don't forget to check out our incredible new play area created especially for the gardens and open 7 days a week.

Yay Coffee will be selling beverages on the Esplanade and further refreshments can be purchased at the Clock Café in the gardens and Farrer's Bar in the Spa.

Everyone is welcome to enjoy this free event. Children must be accompanied by an adult and dogs on lead are permitted everywhere except the Shuttleworth Gardens.
