Cal Halbert

About

Britain’s Got Talent Star to appear at new Comedy Club.

Cal Halbert one half of the famed “The Mimic Men” is appearing at Vibe Bar in Scarborough, on Wednesday 16th June as part of their monthly comedy club "Hilarity Bites".

Deemed 'the new generation of comedy' by Michael McIntyre, Cal Halbert has performed from local comedy clubs to the London Palladium, Britain's Got Talent to Good Morning Britain and voiced for YouTube to the BBC. Well known as an impressionist, Halbert is one half of 'The Mimic Men', the UK's only impressionist double act! The Mimic Men appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2016, gaining four yeses accompanied by a standing ovation by the judges, audience, and Ant and Dec.

Headlining the event is David Hadingham. Like a mad Phil Daniels, David is a bulldog of a comedian. At his best in the live arena, Dave has been a professional comic since May 1996. Intense and anecdotal, he keeps audiences hooked right up to the last punchline as he presents his unique and often warped view of everyday life.

Vibe are working in partnership with North East comedy promoter “Hilarity Bites” to program the monthly comedy club. They have been bringing the best of the UK and International comedy scene to venues throughout the North East of England since 2007.  Hilarity Bites have consistently brought the biggest and best names to venues throughout County Durham, Tyneside, Teesside and North Yorkshire, including the likes of Sarah Millican, Reginald D. Hunter, Russell Kane and John Bishop.

Vibe marketing manager Steven Anderson said, “After a long period of uncertainty and lockdown, I think we all deserve a laugh. We’re proud to be working with Hilarity Bites and are amazed that they can bring real circuit comedians to our club”.

“During the lockdown we have updated and refurbished the venue and have been granted “grassroots venue” status by the local authority and the Music Venue Trust”.

“The comedy club is just one part of the big picture in building a local venue for a wide variety of events. From burlesque to hardcore dance, northern soul to UV partys. We hope the venue will become a hub for cultural activities of all kinds."
