Filey - Nature, Parks & Gardens

Filey is a town that’s at one with nature. The sweep of its outstanding beach leads from the Brigg in the north – a spit of land that’s a haven for seabirds – and heads down the coast towards Bempton, with its famous RSPB reserve. Inland, Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a gem of freshwater marsh, is run by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, and is a haven for birds and animals, including an important colony of great-crested newts.

The town’s many small gardens are one of its glories, with the peaceful Glen Gardens, with its open-air boating lake and play park, a perfect place for family picnics.
