Family and Themed Attractions

There can be few more family-orientated areas than the North York Moors National Park. Whether you’re looking for a beach holiday for small children, a fossil-hunting location for a dinosaur-mad youngster, fabulous history for those looking for a more educational trip, or great walking and cycling opportunities for outdoorsy older children, the Park has it all.

It’s also home to the only railway line running between Pickering and Whitby and the world’s most popular heritage railway service, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway – so popular that a second platform has recently been added at the Whitby end to cope with demand.
