Hawk Hire - Falconry Experience

Hawk Hire - Falconry Experience

Details

We’ll lend you a glove and then set off on our Hawk Hike on one of our various routes with a trained Harris Hawk. With the Harris Hawk following through the trees, everyone will get the chance to call the hawk down to their fist a number of times – a camera is a good idea! The whole experience lasts about an hour.

For this falconry experience you’ll need to be able to walk about a mile over uneven ground. Numbers are generally limited to just 4 per Hike; but larger groups can be accommodated by arrangement. We have a number of routes we use, don’t worry we’ll choose one that suits your abilities!

Corporate groups are welcome on this unique experience.

Children welcome

In addition to a world class collections of these magnificent birds there are three daily flying demonstrations where you will see birds from tiny owls to giant eagles flying freely. The demos are always popular with photographers. Set amongst the veteran oaks of Duncombe Park this is a place for the whole family to enjoy. Many visitors spend a whole day with us, you really need at least 2 hours to see everything. Why not bring a picnic and make a day of it? The Owl House Cafe serves a selection of hot and cold food and has daily specials on the blackboard.

Prices

A Hawk Hike costs just £30 per person and is suitable for adults & children over age 10. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult please. Admission to the centre is included in the price, so why not make a day of it?

Gift Vouchers are available.

Pre-booking often isn’t necessary (but you are welcome to pre-book) – just sign up in the centre’s shop. However, if you’d like to pre-book or give a voucher as a gift, you can buy online below. Vouchers are valid for 12 months. Hawk Hikes are run immediately after either the first or second demos – at about 12 noon and 2.30pm.
