By Car

With accessible routes to all of our main coastal resorts and various parking facilities, travelling by car is one of the most popular options for people visiting the coast.

From the North: head towards Middlesbrough, and pick up the A171 towards Whitby, then follow on towards Scarborough or pick up the A165 to Filey and Bridlington.

From the South West: take the M1 towards Sheffield then the M18 towards Doncaster then A1(M) towards York then the A64 to Scarborough/Filey. For Whitby follow the A64 towards Malton and turn off at the A169 (Near Eden Camp).

From the South East: take the A1(M) towards Shefield, Leeds, York then the A64 to Scarborough/Filey. For Whitby follow the A64 towards Malton and turn off at the A169 (Near Eden Camp).
