Stay Alert

Visitor Updates

Please think twice before travelling to our borough.

If you do choose to visit at this time, #stayalert and please remember:
• There are still limited facilities available - we cannot guarantee which car parks and toilets will be open
• Many local businesses remain closed in line with government guidelines
• Many of our beaches remain without lifeguard cover
• To avoid busy places, including narrow paths and streets
• To respect social distancing at all times, staying at least two metres apart from anyone not in your household
• To respect our communities and the environment. Dropping litter is unacceptable. Please use a bin or take it home with you.

Thank you.

You can still share your treasured memories of previous visits on the coast with photos from your holidays. Please use

We’d like to thank visitors for their cooperation at this uncertain time for staying at home and keeping safe. With spring in full swing and the weather beginning to get warmer we know it may be tempting to take a trip to the coast however…

It is VITAL that we CONTINUE to follow the advice of Public Health England in order to protect not only yourselves and others but to support the NHS through these difficult times by continuing to stay at HOME.

We understand that many of you will be missing your coastal fix so we’ve created a campaign on our social media #AtHomeWithTheYorkshireCoast where we will be bringing a little bit of the Yorkshire Coast to your homes over the next few weeks!

Once this pandemic is under control, we will of course welcome you all back.

Discover Yorkshire Coast are following the advice of government guidelines in relation to coronavirus, which can be found here:
