Surfing in Scarborough Scarborough

Scarborough is the must-visit destination for surfers.

Scarborough has got you covered, whether you're a complete beginner or just need to improve your technique, a variety of surf schools are on hand to help push your abilities and get you to the next level. In fact, people are making trips from as far as Cornwall, as our waves are better than theirs! And what's good for the surfers is also good for our economy.

Scarborough's waves are really world class, because it's unique location. Scarborough faces east and low pressure pushes the northerly swells down. When the coastline gets westerly winds, these hold the surf up longer.

The waves in Scarborough aernt always big, but they're ideal for beginners, but Cayton Bay and Staithes are known to be some of the best spots in the country.

With professional guidance in either a group lesson or on a one-to-one basis, you’ll be surfing quickly and safely at this stunning beachside location!

The best time for beginners are through the autumn months were the waves are more consistent, and the beaches are less crowded. The more adventurous and experienced surfers might prefer the winter months when the waves are likely to be at their biggest.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab a board and let’s dive in!
